Brown Fused Alumina
Sundar Brown Fused Alumina is produced by the smelting of Calcined Bauxite in an electric arc furnace at temperatures which is greater than 2000oC. A slow solidification process follows the fusion, to yield blocky crystals. The melting helps in removing residual sulphur and carbon. Strict control during the fusion process ensures optimum toughness of the grains. Sundar Calcined bauxite is produced by sintering/calcining of low iron, low alkali containing raw bauxites at temperatures of 1600 – 1800 degree Celsius. In this calcination process, the high refractory mineral phases corundum and mullite are formed. Sundar refractory grade bauxite has high refractoriness, good mechanical strength and moderate slag resistance. Fused Spinel
Sundar Fused Spinel, using alumina and high purity light-burnt magnesia as main starting materials, fusing in electric arc furnace and cooled, is a new kind of high purity synthesized refractory raw material.
Sundar Fused Spinel is characterized by high bulk density, good thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance. It is testified that addition of fused magnesia-alumina spinel can improve the slag resistance and thermal shock resistance of refractory products.
